Invite you to participate in the inaugural “U.S. Codes and Standards Workshop: Applications for the Brazilian Oil & Gas and Nuclear Industries Overview It is a pivotal time to hold this workshop given that billion dollar investments are expected in both sectors. In May 2010, Brazil's Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) issued a license for the Angra 3 nuclear plant, clearing the last major requirement to begin the construction. The plant will be Brazil's third nuclear power station and will be built close to the other two in Angra dos Reis. The Brazilian government also expects to license construction for up to 4 nuclear plants in the near future. In the oil and gas sector, Brazil is developing plans to tap into the potentially enormous deepwater pre-salt fields. The Workshop and business-to-business meetings are being organized under the aegis of the U.S.-Brazil CEO Forum and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Civil Nuclear Trade Initiative.
